This time, I came to Shanghai Nanjing Road to connect with the project and stayed at Shanghai Jinjiang Metropolo East Nanjing Road Hotel, Off Bund for three consecutive nights. Originally, I only planned to use this place as a place to stay and sleep, but unexpectedly, I took a break from my busy schedule and immersed myself in the entire level of recreational facilities, turning the non-stop business trip into a small vacation that could be easily revived at any time.
On the first day, after completing the docking and returning to the hotel at 8 pm, I pushed open the gym door with a try it out attitude and was instantly pleasantly surprised. The 24-hour open space has no stuffy odor, with all floor to ceiling glass facing the hotel's indoor greenery, and the screens of treadmills and elliptical machines facing the light and shadow outside the window, making running completely enjoyable. After running for forty minutes, I broke out in a thin sweat, and my shoulders and neck, which had been stiff in front of the computer all day, instantly relaxed.
The temperature controlled swimming pool next to the gym exceeded expectations. There are very few people in the 25 meter standard lane, so there is no need to make dumplings like in chain hotels. The water temperature remains stable at 28 degrees all year round, and even in Shanghai during the autumn night, getting into the water won't feel bone chilling. The safety officer by the swimming pool does not excessively disturb, but always pays attention to the situation in the lane. Free floating boards and swimming goggles are set up in advance on the shelf by the shore. After swimming ashore and taking a shower, the hot water in the shower room comes out in seconds. The matching shower gel is a highly moisturizing citrus tone, and the skin will not feel tight after washing.
What surprised me the most was the leisure facilities hidden deep in the recreational area. The temperature control in the steam sauna room is just right, and steaming for ten minutes can exhaust the fatigue of the whole day. The free ginger tea and lemon water in the rest area can be refilled at any time. The next day, I had to make a last-minute change to the plan and even borrowed the leisure and reception area in the leisure zone. The soft leather sofa paired with a floor to ceiling lamp was much more comfortable than working in a room. Before leaving, I also experienced the hotel's self-service laundry room. The built-in aromatherapy function of the dryer helped me dry my two day old formal clothes smoothly and with a light fragrance, without having to go to an outside dry cleaning shop.
Previously, when I was on a business trip, I used to think that hotel recreational facilities were just a display. This time I visited the old city of Shanghai and chose Shanghai Jinjiang Metropolo East Nanjing Road Hotel, Off Bund on Nanjing Road Walkway as my destination. Going out is the fireworks of the Ten Mile Market, and taking a turn can feel the river breeze of the Bund. After staying for three nights, I didn't rush to check-in, but instead picked up a leisurely Shanghai slow time in the most central area.
Just got out of the People's Square subway station and walked along Nanjing Road for three minutes to reach the hotel entrance. The spire of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower in the distance is exposed among the buildings, and the sweet smell of old cream cake is wrapped in the wind.
The most comfortable thing is the convenience of not having to rush to travel. The next day, there was no need to wake up early and squeeze into the subway. Instead, you could leisurely stroll to the Bund to see the morning mist. At this moment, there were no crowds of people gathering on the riverbank, only Abb é exercising in the morning and sanitation workers sweeping the streets. The wind of the Huangpu River was wrapped in water vapor, blowing on your face, much more comfortable than the observation deck crowded with tourists at night. At noon, walk back along Nanjing Road and turn into the recommended pan fried restaurant at the front desk. The freshly cooked pan fried base is crispy and juicy, paired with a bowl of curry beef soup, which is several times more authentic than the popular shops in the scenic area. In the evening, there is no need to squeeze on the subway back to the hotel. Walking slowly along the pedestrian street, watching the old signs of Yong'an Department Store light up, listening to the old artists singing Yue opera on the roadside, even their footsteps slow down.
The details of the hotel also conceal the sophistication of an old-fashioned hotel. The small Wonton cooked in the Ming stall of breakfast is fresh. The taste of our soy sauce duck is just like Grandma's craftsmanship. You don't have to panic when you get up late. You can still have a hot meal at 10:30. Strolling until late at night and returning to the hotel, I don't have to squeeze through the crowds to find my way. Just take a few turns and step into the lobby. The room service has quietly sorted out the souvenirs I casually laid out on the table, and placed a small bottle of free mint water at the bedside to relieve the heat of the day.
In the past, when I came to Shanghai, I always wanted to rush to tourist attractions and squeeze into internet famous check-in spots. However, this time when I stayed at Shanghai Jinjiang Metropolo East Nanjing Road Hotel, Off Bund, I realized that choosing the right place to stay, I don't have to compete with tourists for scenery.
